The Documented Life Project June 6 (Week #23) Using Tim Holtz Travel Goodies!

Summer is my absolute favorite season of the year! You can't beat the lazy sunny days, vacations, water fun and of course, BARBEQUE! Oh yeah! ;D

So, it's only fitting that the June theme for the Documented Life Project is travel related.

Journal Prompt: Take Me Away

I have to admit, I initially struggled with this week's DLP art challenge & journal prompt. I was completely drawing a blank! UGH! But then, it finally hit me......nobody does destination traveling better that Tim Holtz. THAT'S IT! I grabbed some of his grungy, vintage goodness from my stash and got to work!

 June 6 (Week #23) Using
Tim Holtz Travel Goodies

Here is my "step out" art journaling process:

Started with Textured
 Scrapbooking Paper

Used Tim Holtz
"Stampers Anonymous"
'Remnant' Stamps on the
Background with Black Archival Ink

Collaged Bits & Pieces
of Tim Holtz's "Desination"
 Scrapbook Paper and other
Bits for added Visual Interest

Added the DLP Journal Prompt
for the Focal Point
Using Hazel & Ruby
Alpha Mask Stickers

Painted Over the Alphas
with Turquoise & White
Dylusions Acrylic Paint

Removed the Sticker Masks,
Outlined with a Black
Tombow Marker, and
Stitched around the
Edges with Black Thread

Sketched a Simple Beach
 Background and Painted
with Peerless Watercolors

Tipped-In a Pocket for my Beach Sketch

And VOILA' ~ All DONE!

Thanks for stopping by today!

Happy art journaling,
