Week #53/Week #1 Filofax Layout Featuring Studio L2E Planner Stamps!

2014 is quickly coming to an end! WOW! What an incredible ride!! 2015 is bound to be a "NEW SEASON" on so many levels. I look forward, with excitement, to all that lies ahead in the new year.

Anthropologie is one of my favorite stores. I frequently use their signature latte bowls to store my delicious ephemera bits. Anyhow, the rich jewel tones showcased in their current winter catalog are simply breathtaking. I just had to give these gorgeous colors a try in my planner this week.

The New Studio L2E "Making Planning Fun Creative Team"!

For those of you who do not follow me on Instagram or Facebook, you may or may not be aware of the INCREDIBLE announcement that Studio L2E made yesterday. Well, I am SO EXCITED to share that I have been invited to serve on the very first Studio L2E  "Making Planning Fun Creative Team". WHOO~HOO!

Small business owner, Kanani Kawamura, started her planner stamp company two years ago. I truly admire all that she has accomplished in such a short amount of time with her super generous heart & entrepreneurial spirit. To know that she likes my work, blesses me so much.

It is truly humbling to think that my love for "all things planner~related", which began with my first job out of college, could turn into this INCREDIBLE dream & opportunity. What an honor & privilege it will be, not only to share Studio L2's "WORLD RENOWNED" planner stamps in the upcoming months but also, to work with such a "crazy talented" team of ladies. Oh, what FUN! Stay tuned!

Please be sure to check out Studio L2E's "new" BLOG!

Playing & Planning in my Filofax ~ Week #52 Layout Progress!

Hey everyone! I pray that you had a WONDERFUL Christmas day with your family & friends. My family had so much FUN! I can't wait to document all of the details in my December pocket scrapbooking album.

In my last planner post, I shared my Week #52 Christmas Filofax background layout. Today, I thought I would give you an idea of what my Filofax layout looks like now, after five days of playing & planning (Monday through Friday only).

Instead of utilizing a separate art journal for my creativity, I enjoy trying different mixed media techniques & experimenting with a variety of mediums (acrylic paint, InkTense pencil, Gelatos, Faber Castell Pitt Pens, etc) right in my Filofax. I LOVE it when artwork is not only "way cool", but also"functional". It's a total "win-win" for me!

As time permits throughout the week, my favorite part of playing in my Filofax is doodling and adding details to create dimensional effects or make things appear like they are leaping of the page. In an upcoming blog post series after the first of the year, I will be sharing some simple techniques on how to achieve these 3-D effects.

My planner is a "safe place" for me to intentionally avoid perfection and simple flow in my natural style, which tends to be messy & random. Planning my activities for the week is an opportune time to sharpen my hand lettering & stamping skills. Lately, I have been challenging myself to create my own custom ephemera & planner stickers to represent different activities I need to tackle during the week. These fun, decorative bits add more color, texture, layers & interest to my planner layouts.

Thank you & Merry CHRISTmas!!!

I just want to thank everyone for all of the love & encouragement you have shown me in my creative journey & with the launch of my blog. THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart. I am eternally grateful!

As I reflect back on 2014, it is evident that the Lord has stretched me in ways that I didn't even know were possible. Most people don't believe me when I tell them that, by nature, I am a VERY private person. I know, right?? Trust me, God has done some major surgery in my heart this past year. Now, as crazy as it may sound, I am both 'willing' and "excited" about stepping outside of my comfort zone, in faith, to publicly share my God-given gifts & my story. My life is not my own……..I am redeemed! The Lord has FULL permission to have His way in my heart & in my life. I CLING to Him for every stroke of paint & every word I write. To God be the glory, great things He has done!

Week #52 Christmas Filofax Layout Inspired by Traci Bautista (Part 2)!

It's CHRISTMAS WEEK! Whoo-hoo!

In my Week #51 Holiday Filofax Layout last week, I featured some stamped prints that I created during Traci Bautista's "live stream" workshop I participated in a couple of weeks ago. I reserved these deliciously painted deli papers for my Christmas layout this week.

"Documenting My December 2014" ~ Week #50 Pocket Scrapbooking Layout!

Last year, I ordered a "Santa Sack" from scrapbooking manufacturer, October Afternoon. This $39.99 kit (which normally retails for $100) came "STUFFED" with an assortment of October Afternoon's signature, vintage style scrapbooking paper & embellishments. Trust me, the October Afternoon "Santa Sacks" are "WELL WORTH" the investment. INCREDIBLE VALUE!

There were several pieces of navy patterned scrapbooking paper in my package that immediately caught my eye. Well, I set them aside for 'such a time as this'! Although navy is a non-traditional Christmas color, I decided to incorporate these 'blue hued beauties" in my Week #50 holiday layout.

With two weeks of "Documenting my December 2014" under my belt, I have to say, I am SUPER PLEASED with my progress. After Christmas, I will do a complete review of my
4-part approach & share some of my key 'take-aways'. So, stay tuned!

Have a fabulous weekend!
